Repurpose It acquires Bark King

Repurpose It has acquired organics landscape supplier Bark King, taking a significant step towards our ambition to completely eliminate organic waste through a closed loop circular economy.

Taking ownership of Bark King’s timber and mulch recycling sites in Melbourne’s south east will enable Repurpose It to connect Victorian’s timber organics waste disposal to landscape materials supplied in the form of recycled mulch, barks and soil amendments.

Following the Victorian Government’s pledge to provide all households with food organics and garden organics (FOGO) services, Repurpose It will help recover some of the 650,000 tonnes of organic waste sent to landfill each year, helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The addition of Bark King will immediately expand Repurpose It’s physical geographical footprint by acquiring two new sites in Victoria, and allow the business to venture deeper into the organic waste stream, adding to our established civil and infrastructure resource recovery capabilities and growing construction and landscape materials product range.

The acquisition of Bark King is another step in our commitment to give Australia’s valuable resources new life, and close the loop on organics waste for our local circular economy.
