Repurpose It – Cranbourne

Repurpose It has announced the acquisition of a site in Cranbourne, in Melbourne’s south-east, a move that marks a significant expansion of the business’ recovery capabilities in one of Victoria’s fastest growing regions. The site, formerly operated by SBI Group, will be transformed into a best-practice resource recovery precinct, drawing on Repurpose It’s award-winning model developed at its flagship Epping facility.

“This is a strategic and values-aligned step forward for Repurpose It,” said George Hatzimanolis, Founder and CEO. “Victoria urgently needs scalable recovery infrastructure, and this site gives us a rare opportunity to deliver it. We’ll be investing significantly to improve environmental performance, increase recovery, and build lasting partnerships with the local community.”

Hatzimanolis states “we know this site has been part of the local landscape for a long time, and we respect the work that’s gone into getting it here. Our commitment now is to improve, engage and create something the whole community can be proud of.”

The Cranbourne facility will undergo a multi-year transformation focused on modernising infrastructure, improving material diversion outcomes, and enhancing operational standards. The project is expected to generate local employment, provide ongoing community engagement and education initiatives, and help reduce pressure on Victoria’s existing recovery network.
